About Us

Humanist chaplaincies serve much the same roles as their religious counterparts, but focus on being good without a belief in a god. They provide consultation, preside over ceremonies, and offer opportunities for educational outreaches and community service projects to nonreligious students and members of the armed forces.

This is a network operated by the American Humanist Association which aims to connect Humanist chaplaincies across the United States with each other and those who seek their services.

Listed university chaplaincies are chapters of the American Humanist Association and accrue some benefit from our close relationship, but they are also independent in their governance and their funding and need direct support in order to reach their potential.
